If you are of a certain age and from a certain population, this photograph has an element of the surreal (placing the Berlin Wall segments in the middle of distant Los Angeles) as well as the political (placing Latino children into a scene twenty-two tears from the wall coming down in Berlin and just a few years after a very similar wall went up in San Diego and on the West Bank).
If not, it's a just a record of the sometimes disconnected visual cacophony that can be Los Angeles. The location is in front of an office building opposite the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Wilshire Boulevard.
