You Say You Want A Revolution by makepictures You Say You Want A Revolution by makepictures
Getty Center, Los Angeles, CA.

The Louvre and the Getty have put together a show around the sculptor, Bouchardon.  One of his great works was a monumental bronze completed in 1758 of the King of France, Louis XV, seated on a horse.  It was toppled and smashed during the French revolution in 1792 and the pieces were melted down.  This hand, bearing the scars of anger from the crowd, is all that's left.
